Easy migration
Rieker was founded in 1874 in the Schwarzwald and initially produced shoes for the wealthy population of northern Italy, which gave the company an early reputation for high-quality craftsmanship. Today, the group operates production facilities in five countries, three design offices and 16 distribution centers and employs around 20,000 people worldwide. Rieker supplies around 8,000 independent retailers, mainly in Europe, with shoes and accessories, with various locations responsible for collection, development, distribution and logistics.
The challenge
Seamless migration and workflow backup
Rieker had been using a DAM system for three years that did not meet the team's requirements in several respects. The outdated user interface was the least of the problems. Much more serious was the system's lack of flexibility, which barely responded to changing requirements. Even simple adjustments or enhancements often remained unprocessed for months and were added to a long list of open tickets, which significantly impaired efficiency and progress.
It was only during the course of the project that it became clear that the provider of the previously installed DAM system had significant limitations, particularly with regard to the ability to export data and files. There were also shortcomings in the advice on optimal business processes, customer support and the provider's expertise, which stood in the way of a certain dynamism in the use of the application.
The biggest challenge was to ensure a quick and smooth migration. The aim was to minimize disruption to the ongoing workflow in the design department and to create a seamless transition phase so that work could continue without interruption. Another requirement was the complete transfer of the existing solution in order to preserve the familiar working environment for the users and keep the adaptation effort to a minimum. eyebase not only had to transfer all previous data and structures precisely, but also ensure that all functionalities were seamlessly integrated.
The migration was extremely straightforward and eyebase took care of the entire process, from creating a suitable solution to data migration. The existing solution was fully integrated so that we did not have to do without any functions. One positive aspect is that the data upload with eyebase now also works much faster.
The solution
A fresh start with added value: Successful switch to eyebase thanks to fast migration
Aufgrund der Unzufriedenheit mit einem Konkurrenzprodukt entschied sich der Kunde für einen Wechsel zu eyebase. Die bisherige Lösung wurde dabei vollständig in das neue System übernommen, und die fehlende Kooperationsbereitschaft des alten Anbieters konnte durch das Know-how der eyebase-Mitarbeiter ausgeglichen werden. Im Mittelpunkt des Projekts stand eine zügige und effiziente Umsetzung, um dem Kunden nach längerer Unzufriedenheit eine zuverlässige und funktionsfähige Lösung bereitzustellen.
Eyebase konnte dabei nicht nur die bestehende Lösung reibungslos integrieren, sondern auch Bereiche identifizieren, in denen gezielte Verbesserungen möglich waren. Dadurch wurden bestimmte Funktionen optimiert, die den Workflow des Kunden zusätzlich erleichtern. Den gesamten Datenexport sowie die Migration übernahmen die Experten von eyebase, was dem Kunden die Umstellung enorm erleichterte. Bereits nach nur zwei Wochen konnte dem Kunden ein voll funktionsfähiges System zur Verfügung gestellt werden.
